Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Sandybridge) Windows 10 Graphics Driver support ?

    Question

  • Do you know if the Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Sandybridge) is supported on Windows 10?

According to http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm there is no support for Intel Graphics HD 3000 for Windows 10.

    Thanks,

    nkef

  • You can be sure that if Intel does not write the Windows 10 drivers for their products then Microsoft will not be able to provide support for those products in Windows 10.  The manufacturer of the hardware has the sole responsibility for support of their products, not Microsoft.  Microsoft only provides drivers that are provided to them by the original equipment manufacturer, they do not write any drivers for any third party hardware.

The chart you reference does indicate Intel does provide Windows 8.1 support for the HD 3000 graphics and the Windows 8.1 drivers should provide adequate functionality in Windows 10.

According to the link (footnote 2) that cards drivers were only supported in "legacy mode" (compatibility) even in win 8.1. It may do the same in win 10 and the only way to find it is to try it

To install in compatibility mode do the following:

    Right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows?SignedIn=1
(works in vista, win 7, win 8, and win 10)

  • I have the 3000--it works fine.

Intel is probably just referring to their putting out new versions, but the last one works.

  • The following driver installed fine under Windows 10 build 10074 for my SandyBridge (HD 3000) laptop, using normal installation, and performs very well:

  • I seriously doubt that. I tried this same driver trying to setup my HP DM4 on 10074, and it game me the error (Does not meet minimum requirements). And when I tried to install it Manually using the .inf file, it says, OPERATING SYSTEM NOT SUPPORTED.

Please confirm that this is the driver you used.

  • Absolutely.  This is the detail in the Display Adapters section of Device.  Note that the version number is confirmed.  In my case, I am using a Lenovo T420s rather than an HP so there may be other issues at work.   (I installed this after only the BasicDisplay adapter was installed by default.)

  • What build are you using where the Intel drivers are working? Everything from 10074 to 10130 has disallowed Intel drivers from being used. I did a clean install up to 10130 and can get laptop Nvidia drivers installed but can't get Intel in on an Optimus graphics switching laptop. I have attempted changing .inf files of multiple driver versions with no success.

Intel stated that they most likely won't be releasing a driver for 10 TP until release day. And even then, will it include older Intel HD chips...

  • I am on 10074, 64 bit.  To be clear, I installed using the downloadable exe from Intel and it went through a long series of automated installation steps. Interestingly, my Nvidia driver would not install until after the Intel install, complaining that the other driver was a pre-req.  Maybe try uninstalling the Nvidia driver first...

  • Hi all,

Work nicely with a HP ProBook 4530s and the last Build (10162) :-)

  • it happens that even the drivers downloaded by Windows Update on Windows 8.1 fail to install. The solution is to download an older driver from intel directly, don't use the useless intel driver update utility.

Use this link older intel win64 152823

If those don't work look for 9.17.10.4101 in this page
