emails sent does not always reach the recipients RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are on Exchange 2007.

We have multiple accepted domains. And we are facing a rather strange issue.

One accepted domain has about 12 mailboxes.

The users are spread across the globe. The problem we are seeing is with a set of users in one office.

    1. All users are using mac mail.

Some emails and I say again some emails sent, forwarded or replied to goes and sits in the sent items but the recipients do not receive them.

We check message tracking and we dont see a trace of these emails.

    How can we correct this?

  • Enable protocol (verbose) logging for send/rec. connectors. This will explain what's going on.

    http://exchangeserverpro.com/exchange-server-protocol-logging/

This will capture communication. You can also use Log parser to read those logs: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2007/11/12/3404342.aspx

  • Hi,

Accroding to your post, please check whether the message has sent by OWA, also try send a test message by OWA.
If it works fine, it might be caused by mail client.

If the issue persists, we might use message tracking log and protocol log to monitor the message deliver process. For example:
Get-MessageTrackingLog –Server “mailbox server” –Sender “a@abc.com” –Recipient “b@abc.com” –MessageSubject “Read: message subject” | FL
Here's an blog about “Analyzing the protocol logs and Message tracking logs in Exchange 2013”:

    Thanks
