TFS2012 Management pack queries Sharepoint instead of tfs RRS feed

    We found in on our tfs 2012 server that the internal script MonitorForRegistrationWebService.vbs is querying our SharePoint server with the url (http://localhost/tfs/TeamFoundation/Administration/v3.0/TeamProjectCollectionService.asmx ) Instead of the TFS server. This causes an "An unhandled exception has occurred" in the Microsoft.SharePoint.Library.SPRequestInternalClass.GetFileAndMetaInfo method of the SharePoint environment, because an asmx file is a restricted file type. Since SCOM perfomes this check every 5 minutes, we see it all over our eventlog. The most interesting thing is, SCOM tells us that the TFS environment is sound, so it doesn't have any issues with this exception.

    We think its caused by the row 17 in MonitorForRegistrationWebService.vbs being:
     InstallPort = oArgs(0),
    instead of
      i_InstallPort = oArgs(0)
    Which results in the port number be-ing dropped on the query.

    Is there a supported way to change this file, to fix this ?

    Hi

    There won't be supported ways to change items like this without going through the official microsoft support process and making the changes under the guidance of a Microsoft engineer. I'd suggest that if you think this is a bug (and it does look that way) that opening a PSS ticket is the best approach.

    In the meantime, someone else might have seen a fix and save you the call (although if you make the change yourself, it would still classify as an unsupported change).

    Hopefully a Microsoft Product Manager might pick it up from there (PMs, in general, don't frequent these forums).
