SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Report Services - Unable to connect to Remote Server


  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP2) - 10.50.4000.0 (X64)   Jun 28 2012 08:36:30   Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation  Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) (Hypervisor)

    1. Web Server installed as required for Report Services
    2. Install SQL Server R2 with Report Services
    3. Set up Report Services for SQL Server
    4. http://eagnmnsg4cd/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx     : Cannot Connect to remover Server error

    From Report Services Log:  D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles

    ui!ReportManager_0-3!860!10/24/2013-09:50:26:: e ERROR: System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it ::1:443

       at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoConnect(EndPoint endPointSnapshot, SocketAddress socketAddress)

       at System.Net.ServicePoint.ConnectSocketInternal(Boolean connectFailure, Socket s4, Socket s6, Socket& socket, IPAddress& address, ConnectSocketState state, IAsyncResult asyncResult, Int32 timeout, Exception& exception)

    I have looked at other posts and so far cannot resolve issue.... Have a log file if needed... but doesn't look like I can post it here.

  • Resolved this issue

    1) Uninstalled Report Services

    2) Uninstalled SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2

    3) Rebooted server --- just in case something didn't clean up properly

    4) Reinstalled SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2  with Report Services.

    5)  Reconfigured Report Services.

    Not sure what  happened previously but these steps resolved issues
