    Everything that I has saved in my documents folder and all my downloads have disappeared. Months of work and research. In addition, I have had to re install Microsoft Office at least 4 times now - please help !!!!! I never had these problems before Windows 8. I am not a "techy" person, just someone who uses my desktop for work and for helping with childrens homework.

    According to your description, I want to know why you reinstalled office.

    Also, did someone delete your documents?

    In addition to Andre.Ziegler and don'zz mentioned, I suggest you create a new account and let other person use the new one.

    Have you used the Refresh/Reset feature of Windows 8?
