  • Hi JArya,

Regarding to the error number and your description, which might be a Firewall issue, please configure Firewall to allow MS DTC according to Configuring Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) to work through a firewall: (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/250367/).

If it still does not work for you, please follow the steps as below:
    1. Verify the Distributed Transaction Coordinator has been started in both machines
    2. Both sql servers has been configured with allow remote connection
    3. Both msdtc has been started and i follow this link for both machines : http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=873160
    4. Configure my firewall in my publisher machine: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816701
    5. Make sure 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC)' & 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator' services has been started.
    6. Check your antivirus! (might be prevent from RPC action, please disabled it)

Hope it is helpful, if any error launch please post your SQL error log for further troubleshooting.
