VS has no templates downloaded RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I currently have visual studio installed on my windows 7 desktop.  I want to use the VBA windows form to develop a serial communication app, however when I open VS it has no templates whatsoever on it even though I selected the .NET Desktop Development Workload. This is the same for both the community edition that I have installed and the free trial of the professional edition.  So far I have done the following:

-made sure windows 7 had the Service Package 1 installed

    -Installed the .NET framework 4.7

-Selected the .NET Desktop Development Workload

    -Restarted VS after every modification.

-Restarted the computer after every new install/reinstall.

With every installation I receive the following warning:

    Couldn't install Microsoft.VisualCPP.Redlist.14

Am I just missing a Workload or an Individual Component? What am I doing wrong?? :'(

You are more confused than you realize.  Were you aware that you posted your Visual Studio question in a user forum dedicated to Project Online, an enterprise project management application?  I would recommend you repost this question in a user forum dedicated to Visual Studio.  Hope this helps.
