reboot loop after .net update install RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi...im karthik.

usually my pc with win 7 restarts 7 times for me to log in.So i never shut down but just hibernate.

Recently i had to install a software for which i needed to install windows.net version 4.

i didnt download it but it was from the mentioned software package.

after it got installed it asked for a reboot.
Now the problem is its getting struck at "Preparing to configure windows , Dont turn off your pc"and it restarts infinitely[has been restarting since 36 hrs :( ]
to make it worse ,also my cd drive isnt working

    TRIED:

    sfc\scannow at cmd prompt

    rename c:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml pending.old

DELETED all the modified files of  MICROSOFT.NET folder

  • Try to revert back your system to a previous well functioning state by applying a restore point.
Install the .NET Framework manually and then install the software.

    Bye.

  • Please boot into WinRE and run System Restore from there.

What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?
