    the problem is that, when i use open folder in any application it starts another instance of explorer. How do i remove this problem?

    i m using win 7 ultimate x64

    Go into the Explorer options and uncheck the Launch folder windows in a separate process box and click on OK.

    How many instances do you see? What are the commandline arguments?

    there could be any number of instances depending upon how many times i use open folder or open directory button. This button could be in any application like firefox or idm .

    The command line argument says "C:\Windows\explorer.exe /factory,{75dff2b7-6936-4c06-a8bb-676a7b00b24b} -Embedding"

    This argument is same for all the instances.
