how to add new primary and secondary aliases RRS feed

  • Question

  • Looking for an exchange command shell 2007 to add new primary and secondary aliases for existing mailboxes (bulk users). Existing addresses should available with the account and it should not overwrite or deleted. How to achieve this using exchange shell command. Thanks in Advance.

  • There's not a single command to do that in Exchange 2007, so you'll need to write a script.  I know for a fact that there are plenty of people who have posted solutions to this, so please go ahead and search for them.

  • Hi,

Before adding new email addresses, remember that one mailbox can only have one primary SMTP address and multiple other email addresses. By default, the primary SMTP address is based on Email Address Policy. If you want to change the primary SMTP address, set the EmailAddressPolicyEnabled to false for this user via Set-Mailbox then change it, or configure your email address policy.

Script in this thread for reference:

    Best Regards.
