How to add many users to project site? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm currently running in Project permissions mode with Permission Sync enabled and using a site template.

When a new site is created, it will add users from the project team, and no others.  I have a large group of people that work on bits of the project, but aren't assigned to any tasks so I don't want to include them on the PWA team.  They do however require access to the project site.

What is the best method to assign this group access to the project site, without manually doing so for each site?

  • From project center, open the project schedule.  On the "Project" tab here is a "Project Permission" button.  There you can add people from the enterprise pool and provide the permissions for each user.

I'm hoping for a more automated method.  The users I would like to add aren't setup in PWA at all, and I'd rather keep it that was as they only need access to the project sites.

Seems I may need to look for a Powershell solution that can be scheduled to add users/groups directly to the project site.
