Program Compatibility Assistant RRS feed

  • Question

  • The Program Compatibility Assistant has crippled a program that I want to use and I have no idea how to restore it to the way things were. I tried un-installing the program and trying again, but as soon as I exit it, the window pops up telling me that Windows has applied compatibility settings and I can't do anything about it.

I'm using Windows 7 on my laptop.

Any help taht you can give will be hugely appreciated!!!

  • This information is stored in the registry, look for the name of the EXE file in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers or the same path but under HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
