Announcement with multiple Lines as Rich Text Not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • We had a SharePoint Announcement List Rich Text Box which was working, and which is no longer working working. It shows a long line of missing image icons (white squares with a red "x") and no large text box for entering text.

Plain Text works fine. Rich Text or Enhanced Rich Text do not work at all.

What settings should I check in which of the various files to remedy this situation?

  • Hi,

The Rich Text Editor is an ActiveX controls that used to edit wikis, rich text web part. The server files are: TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033\BFORM.JS, TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033\FONTDLG.HTM, TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033\HtmlEditor.js. If you didn’t do any modification, you needn’t to modify it.

From your description, do you mean that this situation just appears in one Announcement List, other lists with rich text box work well?

As it was working before, have you done any customization in the pages or changed  IE settings?

    Thanks,

    Qiao Wei

  • Apparently it was a problem with a DevExpress control in SharePoint. We uninstalled/unregistered it, and now it's working.

    Thank you for your input.
