Collect Feedback, Collect Signatures and Approval Workflows in Project Server? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm needing the OOTB document workflows (mentioned above) to be available for the project documents in each of my project sites generated in PWA.  All that is available is the "Three-state" workflow.  Am I missing a setting to turn them on somewhere?

  • Hi Daren,

Go to the top level PWA site with the site administrator account, click Site Actions > Site Collection features, scroll to the bottom of the page and active "Workflows". This will give you the default SharePoint workflows. I would test this on a test site first, it shouldn't cause any issues, but best to test on a test site first.

    Thanks

  • We've re-installed SP1 and everything seems to be working "as advertised".  Not sure what happened with the first install...

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for the message Paul.  This feature was NOT avtivated on our DEV server that has SP1 installed on it.  I activated the workflows and they showed up as advertised.  However, the workflow feature IS turned on in our production environment and the workflows still don't show up.  We've deactivated and reactivated with no luck.

SP1 is scheduled to be installed within the next couple of weeks but anyone have any suggestions in the meantime?

    Thanks,

    Daren

  • Hi Daren,

This feature does not need SP1, it works from the RTM build. Can you check the ULS logs at the time of activating the feature to see if there are any errors? Do the workflows appear on the top level PWA site? Do they they appear on any Project Site?

    Thanks

    Paul

  • I can't check the logs personally but I can have my FARM admin check them.  Workflows do not appear at the top level PWA site nor any of the Project sites on production server.  They are activated or deactivated on both the top level PWA and Project sites on the dev server depending on the state of the site collection button.

Seems like a problem with the site collection button on the prod server?

  • Hi Daren,

If Workflows show as Active on the the Prod PWA site collection, I would log on with the farm admin account,  deactivate the workflow feature then activate it again. Re-check to see if the workflows are there if not check the ULS logs for any errors / warning around the time you activated the workflow site collection feature.

    Thanks

  • We've installed SP1 into Proejct Server and still can't get the OOB workflows to show.  My FARM admin has cycled the activate/deactivate button at the site collection level and checked the ULS logs with no obvious errors.

I'm not sure where to go from here...

    Any suggestions?

  • Hello Paul,

I am having some trouble finding the Site Actions on the PWA site. I did the same in SharePoint using "Site Settings" instead of "Site Actions" and it did work; however, from PWA I am unable to find Site Actions or reach the Site Collection Features. I would appreciate any recommendations.

    Thank you in advance,

    Marta

  • Hello,

What version of PWA are you using? 2013 / 2016 / Project Online etc.
