Promoting Sub-sites to Site collection in SharePoint 2010 RRS feed

    Hi

    I have one Site collection with several sub-sites. Due to the rate of growth, I plan to create additional contant DB and promote some of the subsites to site collection with a different DB. Can anyone guild me on how to promote a sub-site to a site collection on Sharepoint 2010

    I don't think there is any way to do this in an easy way. 

    I would personally create the new SC and make the root collection sort of a index page with clear links to the key sub-sites.

    Then, backup/restore the site from the original SC and to the new SC and update the index information.
