MIM 2016 Users from AD to AD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

i'm testing MIM2016 to synchronize user from Domain A to Domain B. Now i have configured two Active Directory agents. The MA of Domain A Import the selected attributes and MA of Domain B exports them. The whole Agent configuration is the same except attribute flow.

I also created run profiles. For Domain A Full Import, Full Sync, Delta Import and Delta Sync. For Domain B i created the run profile to Export the Metaverse Data.

My Problem is that the data from Domain A are imported, but the Metaverse data would not be exported to Domain B.

I'm only using MIM synchronization Service. I don't want to use the Service Portal. Could anyone help me?

  • I'm not sure what you mean when you say the metaverse data would not be exported.

    - Are you getting errors?

    - Are objects being joined across the domain?

    - Are you expecting new objects to be created in Domain B?

A little more information would help please.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    - Are you getting errors?

    I'm getting no errors.

    - Are objects being joined across the domain?

In both MA i created a Join Rule from sAMAccountName to accountName

    - Are you expecting new objects to be created in Domain B?

No thats my problem, so i'm a little bit frustrated to work with mim sync service.

The MA from Domain A should work, because i could take a metaverse search. I have imported the main attributs like cn, description, displayname, givenName, middlename, ou, sAMAccountName, sn, title and uid. The same attributes are configured in MA for Domain B only reversed in attribute flow. Both could have a Join and Projection rule for users.

Under Tools -> Options i checked Enable Synchronization Rule Provisioning.

I run the run Profile for Domain A (Full Import and Sync) and on Domain B only an Export. But in Domain B does no User from Domain A are added.

  • Hi,

is the Installation of MIM service and portal needed for synchronizing users and groups?

  • Option 1: You will have to write provisionning code and select it under Tools->Options.

Option 2: you can use Synchronization Rule Provisionning (but for this you will need portal installed)

  • Just say "Let the users be provisioned!"

If this does not work, then follow Borys's syggestion.  :)
