How to take back recovery points ??? RRS feed

  • Question

  •  I used one server DPM 2010 to protect the exchange server 2010.

On the DPM server, i have two disk. One disk is OS with DPM, and the second disk, I added into the DPM to store data of DPM's protection.

Example, my DPM server is down (The second disk is work normal). So I setup OS and reinstall DPM again. How can I add the second disk into the new DPM, take back all recovery points (data) on it ???

How can I continue to protect exchange with new DPM include the second disk inside ???

     Thanks !!!

  • Hi,

you should take a look at this page :http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb808877.aspx

It is designed for DPM 2007 but still applies to 2010.

  • Hi GdRoser,

You must have a backup of DPMDB to restore your DPM Server. I hope you have it ?

To successfully repair DPM, in your case you must perform the following procedures in sequence:

    1. Back up the DPM database.

    2. Do fresh install of DPM. (Same name)

    3. Restore the DPM database.

Take a look at this link : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff399388.aspx
