Outlook 2016 & OWA Connectivity Issue on Windows 10 to Exchange 2010

    Question

  • I am having a connectivity issue with a Windows 10 machine running Outlook 2016 (Office 365) that is connected to another Domain to our Exchange 2010 Server of a different Domain.

    - Windows 10 machine connected to Domain abc.jp running Outlook 2016 (Office 365)

Manage to configure Outlook to connect to our Exchange 2010 Server with Domain abc.sg. However, Outlook 2016 will not connect outside of our Domain LAN. There is also problem connecting to OWA within and outside of LAN.

Can anyone advise what are the possible problems.

    Thanks

    Ronald

  • Hi Ronald,

Does the connection issue happen to all users outside the Exchange server domain? Have you published your Exchange 2010 server to the Internet? Also check the MX record for your Exchange server.

If the Exchange server is published correctly, please check the internal and external OWA Url configuration, the Autodiscover service configuration. We can run the following command in Exchange 2010 to check the OWA configuration:

    Get-OwaVirtualDirectory | Select Identity,name,Internalurl,ExternalUrl,*auth*

Using the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer to check the Outlook Autodiscover service and collect the detailed results.

  • Additionally, this forum focuses on the general discussion for Outlook client. In your scenario, if the issue happens to all users, you can also ask a question in Exchange 2010 forum for more suggestions:
