Keeping Outlook Folders Expanded

    Question

  • I have created multiple folders and sub-folders to store the email I want to keep in an organized way. It used to be that if you closed Outlook by clicking on FILE > EXIT... when you reopened Outlook it folders would still be expanded. Now they collapse every time. I will then have to expand folders and sub folders all over again every time, this is very unproductive and frustrating

    What can I do to keep them expanded? Is there a setting I am missing?

  • Hi,

    There might be some corruptions in your current folder pane's view setting. As an initial troubleshooting step, try to launch Outlook with "/resetnavpane" switch, which will clear and regenerate the Navigation Pane for the current profile:

    Press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /resetnavpane" in the blank box, then press Enter.
