  • Question

  • My internet connection keeps dropping off all the time.

     

    Its connected from vista puter to the router.(wrtg5).

     

    If I pull the plugs from modem and router,wait 10 seconds,reconnect,its ok Till I let it set awhile then its gone again.

    First things first:  try updating the firmware on the router.
    Question:  cable or DSL?  And, is that your modem, or theirs (the ISP's?)

  • Do you have any other PCs there?  Do they also have the same problem?
    If=yes to both, then the problem lies with the router (have you updated the firware on it?), the modem (either a hardware or firmware fault; is it your modem, or your ISP's?), or your physical connection to the modem (contact your ISP.)

  • Sometime yes and sometimes no.Other puters are still connected SOMETIMES .It looks like most of the timemine is the only one down.

  • My Modem.

     

    Dsl.

  • 1. right click computer
    2. manage 
    3. Device manager - double click
    4. network adapters 
    5. Nvidia nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet (i am using nforce 15.51 Ethernet drivers atm) right click
    6. Properties for the adapter that you are using be it one or two
    7. Advanced 
    8. Receive Side Scaling - (disabled!!!!!! not enabled) this is most important.
