IEAK 10 doesn't have an option to skip Windows Updates download like IE 10 installer. RRS feed

  • Question

  • The IEAK 10 installer doesn't have an option to skip internet explorer updates download like the IE 10 installer.   The IE 10 install provides a /update-no switch but there's no equivalent in IEAK 10.  Will Microsoft provide an option to skip the IE updates download as part of IEAK or update the utility?

  • Hi,

Do you intend to skip the update during the setup process or just want block the update after the deployment of IE?

What is the license type of your IEAK10?

There are two types: External Distribution as an ISP, Content Provider, or Developer and Internal Distribution via a Corporate Internet.

The External Distribution doesn’t have the feature of “User Experience(Setup/Restart)”and Corporation options. But the Internal Distribution has this feature to configure setup options.

Setup experience . Depending on your license type, you can set the level of user interaction during the IEAK installation,

and specify settings for the Microsoft® Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, the default browser, and Internet Explorer updates.

  • Hello,

I have a similar issue. After installing the Internal version (verified during when launching the IEAK utility) I don't have an option to disable the updates. The reason I want to disable the updates is because we use WSUS to update our browsers after we push new updates through a pilot test pool of users. So were exactly in the IEAK should I be able to disable the options to update IE 10 after installation? My goal is to automatically uncheck the "Install new version automatically" option on the Help about menu within the build.

    Thanks,

    Rich

  • I am have the same question. Is there a way in IEAK to disable the "Install New Versions Automatically" option.

Does that checkbox override WSUS to get updates? We manage through WSUS but for IE choose to package an MSI and push it out.
