Power Query and versions of Office 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm looking for official Microsoft documentation showing the Power Query features that are supported in different versions of Excel 2016 and potentially earlier versions.

There are many blogs and references on other sites detailing power query supported excel versions, such as this one:

    https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/power-query-version-compatibility-and-installation

but I'm looking for something concrete from Microsoft.

Having an issue in 2016 where Manage Data Model appears under the Data tab in Office 365 Pro Plus,

but on another computer Manage Data Model doesn't appear in Office 2016 Home/Personal on the Data ribbon.

I can confirm that datasources such as Hadoop do not appear in that Home/Personal version, but I would think that you can still launch the Data Model from the Manage Data Model ribbon button, but it doesn't show up there.

Is there something that needs to be enabled and downloaded for Excel 2016 Home/Personal? Is there another way to get to manage data model, through another ribbon button?

Thanks for reading! Any help would be appreciated
