Need details where UPN details stored in local PC RRS feed

  • Question

  • While Launching Outlook, getting the popup which asks for credentials (Windows Security (Microsoft Outlook) Connecting to <email address> popup)

Requirement is to know, from where default User Name is auto populating in above mentioned popup.

Is there any registry in local PC /any storage file or something on local PC, from where this default User Name populating?

  • You should go to Credential Manger to check if there is any record about your UPN information. Try to remove it and test again.

Because UPN or User Principal Name is a logon method of authentication when you enter the credentials as username@domainname.com instead of Windows authentication method: domainname\username to be used as login.

In general, we go to the account tab of a user in ADUC,  next, we will see the "User Logon Name" that is the first box then the @domainname >> that is the UPN suffix.

    Regards
