How to change domain name for each user account/logon name (Active Directory Domain Changes) RRS feed

  • Hi All,

     

    We have WSS 3.0 portal running in our production environment. We are using Windows Authentication in our portal. We would like to change each user’s account name from one domain to another domain since our client has moved LOCAL domain to CORP domain in their Active Directory.

     

    e.g. LOCAL\raman à CORP\raman

     

    We have permission associated for each user at different levels e.g. SharePoint group level, document library level, folder level, etc. We would like to replace each user’s account name with new account names.

     

    Could anyone please help me on this? Please let me know if you have any queries.

  • Assuming that you have already migrated the user accounts to the new domain then you need to run stsadm -o migrateUser for each new user account.  You cna find more information here:
