ADFS server operation verification RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having problem adding a secondary server to a ADFS farm (server 2016). I tried many different things and none of them was working. I came across the link below that provide the instruction to verify the ADFS server's operational state (that will be the primary ADFS server in my case). The thing that I got confused was that it mentioned verifying IIS on the server. Isn't it IIS is not a requirement for ADFS 2016? I reason I am asking is that the problem I have is related to the configuration database synchronization between the primary and the new server.  I realized port 80 is used for the synchronization and IIS should not be used on the ADFS servers or the default port should be used for IIS.

    Can someone clarify this?

    Thanks
