Configure outlook to block out of office messages to external email accounts

Answers

  • Hello Sidd,

Check whether the auto-reply option for outgoing emails in Outlook is disabled. To verify that, go to Outlook>File>Info. Then click on the Automatic Replies (Out of Office) button. In the resulting window, go to the Outside My Organization tab, and make sure the Auto-reply to people outside my organization box is unchecked.

You may also configure a transport rule as already suggested.

    The condition would be:

The recipient is located… > Outside the organization
    And
The message type is… > Automatic reply

    The Action would be:
Block the message… > delete the message without notifying anyone

Or use a third party tool like CodeTwo Out of Office Manager: http://www.codetwo.com/out-of-office-manager/?sts=6493, which allows for central managing of both internal and external out of office messages for all users in the organization.

    Hope this helps,
    Adam (CodeTwo)
