O365 UM integration with Lync 2013 on premises RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    We have Exchange 2013 Hybrid, we have 1300 users in which 100 users are moved and gradually users will be moved to O365, now we have integrated Lync 2013 with O365 UM, I have created all the steps provided on TechNet and other blogs, I have created UM contact for O365 for SA, I have assigned separate number for O365 UM SA and there is a separate number for Exchange on premises SA. I have not configured any AA on O365 UM, AA is only configured for Exchange on premises.

    I have enabled O365 user on O365 Exchange UM assigned voice policy, now the behavior is as follows:

    1. User has activated his pin and he is able to access his voice mail by dialing Subscriber access number or voice mail option from Lync (O365 SA)

    2. Another Lync user (not enabled for any voice mail) can call O365 UM SA successfully

    3. User which is activated for voice mail on O365 Exchange UM can redirect his call to voice mail and if internal user calls the O365 UM enabled user then call goes to voice mail successfully.

    4. If a user dials from landline or mobile to O365 UM enabled user Lync number and user redirects call to voice mail the call is not being forwarded and the call disconnectes immediately

    5. If a user dials from landline or mobile to O365 UM SA number directly call does not establish and the call disconnects immediately.

    6. It is really strange that voice mail works directly from Lync but not for outside users.

    7.. Company SRV record is already created I have verified it

    8. all ports for Exchange online and O365 are open and nothing is blocked

    9. On Lync server topology builder sip federation routing and next hop every thing is defined

    When a user dials from landline or mobile to O365 UM SA number directly or a um enabled user redirects external calls to O365 UM voice mail I receive below error on Lync Servers.


    No server in the dialplan [Hosted__exap.um.outlook.com__company.onmicrosoft.com] accepted the call with id [5ef2a5858fb0511a47b185df01b29596].
    Cause: Dialplan is not configured properly.
    Resolution:
    Check the configuration of the dialplan on Exchange UM Servers.

    On Lync server if I enable tracing I am receiving below

    Please help me to resolve this issue.

  • Hi,

    I have done some logging on Lync Edge server and found two things:

    When a user calls from Lync client to O365 UM Subscriber access the call establish successfully and when I see the call logs I am seeing the username@domain.com and SRV record for the domain.com is verified

    When a user calls from outside the organization (Landline or mobile) to O365 UM subscriber access the call doesn't establish and when I see the call logs I am seeing +97466106903@it.domain.com and subscriber access number as +97455665566@it.domain.com and the error says Unable to resolve DNS SRV record for domain it.domain.com.

    Please note our internal domain is it.domain.com and our external or smtp domain is domain.com

    In Lync 2013 the default sip domain is also it.domain.com and additional sip domain is domain.com

    Pleasae help me to resolve the issue.

  • Hi,

    Please check if you setup the the Lync Edge for EUM to use the Edge authentication listening service on port 5062

    Set-UMServer ExchangeUMServer -SIPAccessService edgeinternal.domain.local:5062  

    As the issue only happen for external users, please double check the Edge Server settings in Topology, make sure there is no wrong IP address for NAT.
