An unexpected error has occurred while open list item from site RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We have sharepoint site as project site workspace (We migrate our Project Server based on SharePoint from 2007 to 2010 version via migrate databeses that included SharePoint content database).

We create custom list and named him like "Issues". Then we created and assosiated simple workflow via SharePoint designer 2010 for email notification when user create and change item in this list. After that we add contribute permission for some user for this list, create new item by admin of this list and set this user as owner for this item. After that we login to this site and list as this user (item owner) and try to open target item. But in this case we got error like below:

       "An unexpected error has occurred."

with corellation ID and Date and time fields.

So i check our ULS log by this corellation id and find some text that recommend to enable SPRequest allocation callstack logging for SharePoint 2010.

I do this and after that reproduce error and have more detailed ULS log as you can see below:

An SPRequest object was not disposed before the end of this thread. To avoid wasting system resources, dispose of this object or its parent (such as an SPSite or SPWeb) as soon as you are done using it. This object will now be disposed.        So what mean this information? We do not have any custom code solution like web parts, controls, event recievers - only standart SharePoint Server 2010 with Project Server 2010 without any cumuliative updates.

May this is bag with SharePoint code?

  • I have been resolved this issue by deleting "project link" field from list of fields of my custom list. I think that when we migrated from Project server 2007 based on SharePoint 2007 to Project Server 2010 based on SharePoint Server 2010 this field have been broken.
