Outlook rules monitoring RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm looking for some ideas on how I can monitor outlook rules and help identify any problems they may be causing.  How would you identify someone who setup a rule to forward all email to another external email account ? and then how would you stop this from happening ?

    Thanks for you thoughts.

  • Do you allow auto-forwarding to the internet? I would disable it.

  • I never worry about users creating forward inbox rules to external addresses, cause I have never enabled "Allow automatic forward", so even if they would, they would never work :)
There are good reason why this "feature" is disabled by default.

  • Hi,

What if I want to monitor for the event of the Outlook rule is disabled due to any errors?

Meaning, I want to be notified (via email) if the Outlook rule is disabled by errors/exceptions. How do I configure this in Outlook?

If there is no such property, what is the best approach to do so?
