Unable to find Custom field values in Project Published or Draft databases RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need the values of Custom fields in some code. I've tried to obtain them using the Published and Draft databases but can't.

The MSP_LOOKUP_TABLE VALUES table is empty in the Draft version.

In the Published version it has values but I can't link it to the Projects since MSP_PROJECT_LOOKUP__TABLES isn't matching any of the LT_UID in MSP_LOOKUP_TABLE VALUES.

I checked this link and it seems missing values in the tables in Draft may be because of Resources not being saved correctly.

     http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/32578308/where-are-the-enterprise-custom-fields-in-project-server-2007.aspx

This does not seem to be the case either, so what do I need to do?

    1) For the blank table in Draft

    2) To retrieve the values in Published

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

Direct query againest Publihsed/draft database is not recommended & supported by Microsoft.

Use project server reporting database which has a very handy view which has all information of project custom fields.

    MSP_EpmProject_UserView

If you are just looking at the Custom fields information:Use the below tables in reporting database:

    MSP_EpmLookupTable
    MSP_EpmCustomFieldAssociation
