Cache File Usage RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

where can I check actual usage (in Percent OR MB) of the Cache file ?

I wan't to use this Info to estimate how long my System can run, before it will come to a Reboot by SS.

  • I'm afraid this cannot be achieved by quering API for the Windows Disk Protection. For API for Windows Disk Protection, you can check the following KB article:

Description of the API for the Windows Disk Protection feature in Windows SteadyState

  • Hi CeVau, I'd like to inform you that Windows SteadyState does not include the function to monitor usage in the cache file, however, it will show a warning message when the cache is 70% full.

  • Thanks for the fast answer, but is there absolutely no way to get this Information ? (Maybe with any kind of API ?)

We are running a Real Time Machine Control Software on our PC's, and it's absolutely not allowed, that the PC shuts down automaticly (by SS) without a User action.

So I must monitor the usage of the cache file, to inform the user at the right time.
