Delete all attachments

    Question

  • Is there a quick way to delete all attachments for all requests using something like PowerShell or SQL script?

  • Hi,

yes there is a nice tool, written by Glen (who also answers lots of posts here). You can use it to manager your attachments (including removing those):

    Manage Attachments Tool

"Xapity Attachments is a free tool that provides SCSM analysts a better way to manage file attachments on all major SCSM Work Items. Add, remove or open the attachments on a Work Item directly from the Manage Attachments console task without needing to navigate to the Related Items tab."

Please post back if this meets your requirements.

The other option is to use the script of Andreas (Moderator of the forum) and adjsut it for the other work item types (he wrote this for Incidents):

SCSM: Get All Incidents With File Attachments via Powershell v0.2

His script goes through every work item and if there is an attachment, it creates an output. Instead of creating an output, you can simply delete the attachment.

    Hope this helps you out.
