SFB 2015 server and Polycom CX700? RRS feed

  • Question

  • It's looking like a "no", but I'm hoping for confirmation.

Will a Polycom CX700 work with SFB Server 2015?

I'm unable to get mine to sign in.  Keeps saying that it "Cannot download the certificate because the domain is not accessible."  I should point out that I did a factory reset on mine, and it still has the OCS2008R2 image on it.  But I can't get it to update, if I can't get it to sign in.  :)

I found one article saying that I had to configure scope option 119 in DHCP, but I don't see that as an option I can add/configure.  No idea if that would make a real difference or not.  Kinda grasping at straws at the moment.

    Any ideas?

  • yeah. it'll work.   You either need to have your DHCP options set OR you can manually install the certs in the phone.  I have S4B here and I have a CX600 that works fine.   It just needs your internal CA root certs installed.

Here's how I did the TRIO

  • CX600 is supported. Doesn't look like CX700 is. If you know how to get the root cents installed, I'm all for giving that a try. I can't find any docs on it though.

  • Are you saying that the article here does not work either?

I had assumed that the 700 was like the 5 and 600 in most ways.   I'm surprised that it's not.

Maybe the link above does nto apply to the domain CA, ... i'll look around and see if I can test.

  • Thank you! I had not run across that article. I'll give it a shot in the morning.

  • That did not work, but I was able to find the solution. I was too stuck on it being a CX700, and knowing its a different series than CX600. (Tanjay vs. Aries and not supported vs. supported - with O365 anyway)

This post had the answer.  https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/bc366b0a-3968-414e-ac8c-993f2a5b0cb6/cannot-download-certificate-because-domain-is-not-accessible?forum=ocsclients&prof=required

    "Dear Friends,

i tried by adding to through USB, and also domain\username , but have to try domain.local\username."

In short...the username had to be domain.int\username instead of just domain\username. Who'da thunk it?

Thanks for your assistance...I wouldn't have gotten over the 600/700 hurdle without it!
