Exchange 2007 Edge issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are still using Exchange 2007 in the edge environment and we are not using any Anti SPam filtering and all filtering is disabled.

But still we are getting below for one domain and that domain emails are stuck in the edge server. Below are the edge server error and NDR error.

Edge server Error : 550 Spam Prevention Masures

NDR error : #550 4.4.7 Queue Expired; Message Expired ##

Can anyone suggest the solution for this issue?

  • Hello,

To fix your issue, I want to double confirm:
    1. Is it occurs on outbound mail flow or inbound mail flow, and does all messages face this issue?
    2. Do you configure EdgeSync with this Edge server?

By default, two send connectors automatic creates after implement EdgeSync, one for send message to Interent, other to send message from Edge server to internal HUB server.
Thus, please check the EdgeSync status by Test-EdgeSynchronization and double check the connector setting in Edge server.

Meanwhile, run "Get-TransportAgent" in Edge server and try to disable all agents for testing.

If this issue remain exists, please remove EdgeSync and re-build again for testing.

    Best Regards,

    Allen Wang

  • Hi,

This is happening only to outbound emails for only one doman. Inbound emails are working well for that domain. This issue is happening for only one domain.

We have configured EdgeSync with the Edge server.

Can you confirm is any particular agent disable works?

    Thanks.

  • Sorry for delay.

Is it an internal domain? And any firewall or other device between Edge server and Internet?
    Any NDR return to sender?

To get more information about this deliver process, please enable protocol log on send connector:
    1. Enable protocol log on Send connector in Edge server:
    Set-SendConnector <Name> -ProtocolLoggingLevel Verbose
    2. Check log under C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\TransportRoles\Logs\ProtocolLog\SmtpReceive by default.

If it's an external domain, and issue only occurs on this domain, also if we find the message was send out and declined from target, we can contact target administrator for further help.

    Best Regards,
