MMC could not create Snap-in Event Veiwer RRS feed

  • I HAVE INSTALLED WINDOWS 8.1

    when opening MMC console it contains nothing and error windows opens saying 

    "MMC could not create the Snap-in. The Snap-in might not have been installed correctly.

    Name: Event Viewer

    CLSID: FX:{b05566ad-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb510}

    I had also installed in the past .NET 3.5 for Peachtree 2010

    How, to resolve the issue. kindly guide

    This is normally caused by a corrupted system file, I suggest to use system file checker to repair the corrupt file:

    1.Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Type Command Prompt in the Search box, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

    2.At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    sfc /scannow
