  • Does anyone know of a good training shop that can deliver detail-level training for Portfolio Analysis for PS 2010?  Once we have it up and running for our client, we will deliver some high-level training for resources tasked with supporting and operating PS 2010, but there will be a need for a resource or two there to get in-depth training on the use of Portfolio Analysis.

  • Your comments are quite flattering.

I don't know if I could break down the "players" in the forum, but UMT whom I work for developed the Portfolio Management package in the first place before it was acquired by Microsoft a couple of years back.  Brians' employer, DeltaBahn also are highly qualified and have been working intensively in this space for a long, long time.  As you both mentioned, MSPE is well established as a training provider in this domain as well.  There are also a good number of other strong training/consultancies with special focus on PPM that are not active on this forum.

Here's a list of training providers off of the Microsoft site.  That may be a good resource.

  • There's a lot of good training shops out there that could do this.  Not sure
how you'd go about picking them, but it might be helpful to mention your
    geographic location.

You might also check out a white paper I wrote that walks you through virtually
    the entire portfolio management functionality:

  • Thx Andrew - I am in the process already of reviewing that paper.  While I have a solid grasp of the module and can 'impart' that knowledge onto someone else with confidence, my concern would be after leaving the client's shop that they would not know it all to the extent they need to and would need some professional in-depth training.

But, I have also found that there are not many shops out there really up-to-speed with PS and hard-core trianing of it.  That's what I am looking for.  Or is it the reality that expert consultants are the best 'training' option out there?

Also, I am trying to get a picture of who is who in this PS Forum world.  Andrew, for example, who do you work for and what is your role at that shop?  I have read alot of Chevetz/Howard, but do not kow where they work either and in what roles.  You folks seem to be the aces in this space and I am curious.

    Thx
