  • Yes, there is. The autocomplete service is a matcher server. For Fuzzy matching consult the FAST ESP Configuration Guide ~p.78 and Advanced Linguistics Guide and read about Levenshtein matchers.

    The way it works is that it compares entries against a dictionary. It will match exact matches or approximate matches based on Your settings known as the tolerance. The tolerance is also known as 'spelling distance'. A spelling distance of 2 means 2 characters can be added, removed or changed. You can also require a prefix match of n number of characters, there is a phonetic option, etc.
