How can I enable Project Web App at Sharepoint Online? RRS feed

  • Question

  • There is no option to create an "Project Web App" here. I found some sites, when it shows to go in the admin, choose the site, and then click on the button "Project Web App" or even, try to create a new "Private Site Collection with Project Web App", but here i only have the option to create a new "Private Site Collection", without the Project Web App.

When I enter in "" or when I enter: and then I click in "Create New", I receive this message:

No instance of Project Web App found. Create at least one PWA before access this page.

I found something about enable it trough powershell, but I don't know how to find the Sharepoint online key to use on it.

  • Hello,

You will need a Project Online license added to the Office 365 tenant (I think at least 1 Project Online Premium) - then you will be able to see the option to create a new "Private Site Collection with Project Web App" in the classic SharePoint Online admin center.

  • Hi Paul,

How to do the same in New / Modern SharePoint Online Admin Center?

Is it possible to enable the Project Web App for a TEAM Site which created through MS Teams App?

How to enable it through SharePoint Online Management Shell command?

    Thanks & Regards,

  • I have the same question about using Project Web App with Modern Team sites in SharePoint Online. Is there a way to have this work? I see the option in the classic SharePoint Admin center but am not seeing it in my new admin center.
