  • We are using SQL as database. We have 32 bit SQL 2005 Standard edition License.I have purchased Windows server 2008 64 bit edition.Can we insatll 32 bit SQL 2005 on it.If no ? then tell me can we get 64 bit SQL 2005 License free from Microsoft against 32 bit SQL 2005 License we have purchased on 2006 ? And can we insatll 64 bit 2005 on Server 2008 64 bit OS and can it will work

    SQL Server 2005 Standard 32 bit edition can be installed to the Windows on Windows (WOW64) 32-bit subsystem of a 64-bit server, and Service Package 2 for SQL Server 2005 is required.

  • You can install your 32 bit version of SQL Server on your 2008 X64 system. have a look at this link for the requirements. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(SQL.90).aspx
