SearchServer 2007 Express ("wss3"): want to stop "Office SharePoint Search Server"

  "Central Administration > Operations > Services on Server"

  One of the services listed is "Office SharePoint Server Search". When I select "Stop" for the Action a new screen appears: "Are you sure you want to uninstall the office SharerPoint Server Search...."

  Of course not. I want to stop, not uninstall, the service.

  What can I do next? (I can always try stopping the Office Search Service from Windows but don't know if that is the best approach!)
