Exclude all folders (and their subfolders) with a specific folder name RRS feed

  • Question

  • With a previous backup solution I was able to create a wildcard exclusion for any folder with specified name (such as "not backed up").  This allows any user to create a folder and store files (personal or other) that don't need to be backed up.  This way I don't have to continually modify the backup settings/configuration.

When the folder is found, neither it nor subfolders would be backed up.  This is used extensively on file servers and other systems.  Is this an option with DPM 2010?

I'm not looking forward for manually searching for these folders on network.  The worse part will be removing them from DPM and then ongoing maintenance.

Hopefully there is an option for this in DPM.
