SCCM 2012 R2 Cross Forest NT4 Domains RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All-

I know this is a crazy question and I know that NT4 should be gone, gone, gone but it isn't!   I have an SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 CU4 environment and multiple NT4 domains.  The client must maintain NT4 domains because of software limitations.  There are supported clients in these NT4 domains with a trust between them and the CM forest (2003 domain level).   I know NT4 is not a supported OS but can I make the computers that are part of these domains CM managed end-nodes without issue?  Thanks for helping.

  • Yes. ConfigMgr itself does not care about or depend on domains, forests, or trusts when it comes to client management. There's really nothing special you need to do here assuming the clients are assigned, the network path is valid and open, and the clients can find the site and its roles via DNS.
