AGPM is not showing in Group Policy

    Question

  • Dear Experts,

Please suggest me what to do. I have completed LAB of AGPM and everything is successfully installed and working. But when I deployed in client's production environment and I open Group Policy Management Console. Under User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components AGPM folder is not showing. Please help me to resolve the issue.

    Thanks & Regards.

  • Dear Andy,

I have completed all the steps successfully but I'm not getting the folder AGPM in specific place.

Please guide me how it will come there.

    Thanks & Regards.

  • Hi  Shafaqat ,

    >>I have completed all the steps successfully but I'm not getting the folder AGPM in specific place.

"we strongly recommend that you run the AGPM Client and AGPM Server on the same operating system line—for example, Windows 10 with Windows Server 2016, Windows 8.1 with Windows Server 2012 R2, and so on."

Please help me to check above.

  • I am going to take a guess as to what is happening.

In your lab you are not using a Central Store for admx files, in production you are.  Therefore, if you are using a central store the ADMX and ADML files need to be copied to the central store.

So, on your AGMP server or a client go to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\agpm.admx and C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\en-US\agpm.adml.

Copy those two files to \\domainName\sysvol\domainName\Policies\PolicyDefinitions and \\domainName\sysvol\domainName\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US respectively.

Also, copy the language that is correct if not using the English version.
