I have a 2016 printserver sharing printers and windows 10 clients. sometimes when printing to a printer in a branch office, the printserver is in the main office, the print jobs just disappear. They don't print and they don't stay in the print queue. When
you print from Word, Excel or any other application there is no error or indication that the print job didn't print.
Just poof, gone. Before if the printer were offline or otherwise unavailable the print job would at least stay in the print queue until whatever error or problem was cleared up.
This is on multiple printer types, kyocera, sharp and ricoh.
It's so very annoying.
