DPM Backup Network Problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am putting in DPM for a customer who want's to backup his hosts using DPM over a 10GB network. I have set the backup network up as 192.168.22.0/24 (all the hosts and the dpm server has 2 IP addresses each on this subnet) and added the relevant entries onto the hosts file on each machine.

NSLookup only returns the DNS are registered on the DNS server and windows firewall is disabled on both DPM and Host server for testing however the agent is unable to communicate with the server. Ping is fine, share access is fine, telnet indicates all ports are open but the agent will not communicate. I have reinstalled the agent again however there still is a problem.

Anywhere else to look in order to get this resolved. The customer only wants the data going over the 10GB network and I'm convinced this is where the problem lies

I had set up all of that side of things. Turned out that the customer had made a mistake in updating their host files which caused the issue.
