OEM vista with new motherboard RRS feed

  • Question

I built my PC about a year or so ago and installed Vista 64bit home premium OEM on it. My motherboard has started doing some strange things and im going to replace it with a new one but different model. Doing a bit of research it seems as if I do this I will not be able to use my current Vista as it registered only to my broken motherboard. Well firstly I want to check if this is true, and what I can do about this??

Is there anyone I can phone to let microsoft know that it is still mainly the same PC and so I don't have to pay anymore money to be able to use the Vista I have already bought?!

Also doing a search I found this: http://www.vistax64.com/vista-installation-setup/132020-vista-x64-oem-new-motherboard.html

Is that what will happen to me if I don't reinstall windows? What if do install vista on a new motherboard and it doesnt work would i be able to go back to my dodgy motherboard and it will still activate?
