Getting the duration in minutes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have a 3 columns in power query: Start date/End Date/Duration.

Start & End date are in Date/Time Format ex:

    Start Date : 12/10/2014  8:30:47 AM

    End Date: 12/15/2014  10:36:41 AM

I need to calculate the duration in minutes. For this if i directly apply the formula [Start Date] - [ End Date] I get the result as 5.02:28:11 which implies 5 days 2 hours 28 min 11 sec.

I split the column using colon as delimiter. The first column remains as 5.02 How do I convert this as 5 days and 2 hours? Splitting the column using dot as delimiter works fine if days are involved. But if the calculated duration is just 13:32:31(13 hours) then the result of the second split makes it 13 days and not 13 hrs.

    How do I solve this?

    Please help
