forefront updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a web page that lists the latest definition updates for forefront. I need to see what the version number is. this way I can compare my desktop versions with the listed versions and take actions on machines that are not updating correctly.

    Thanks,

    Rick

  • Hey Rick,

You have to navigate in your browser to the following page: https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Definitions/ADL.aspx

This is the Microsoft Malware Protection Center Portal where you can download the latest updates packs, get more info regarding update packs and submit any suspicious objects you might find as malware.

Here you also can find a RSS feed with updates, so you can be notified on new update packs.

A logfile of the antimalware agent can be found by navigating to the following path:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\Client\Antimalware\Support

    The logfile name is MPLog-%installdate%-%installtime%.log

    Best regards,

    Victor

  • Yes. You can see the latest definition details on the following site:

    https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Definitions/HowToForeFront.aspx

Also, here are a couple of options to update the FCS definition:
