how to collapse custom field in MSP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I create a custom field with two nodes: projects and their WBS.

there are many lines in total, and when I’m open the field to choose in MSP the list is long because the "threes" are open,

how do i set it as default, so when a user need to enter the WBS he will see it collapsed ( he will see only the projects), and the "three" will be closed as default.

    Thanks,

    Ofir.

  • Hi there,

While you create a lookup table which  has values & sub values (parent & child), Thought there is option to collapse at level 1 but when you save, It again changes to expanded mode. So when you have this field at task/project, the tree will be open to choose from.

I am really not sure why it doesn't work when this has the button to collapse the level 1 or may be by design so uers will not need to find the specific values by expanding all level 1s or 2s.

Not sure , if by using VBA it can be achieved. If you can post the question in customization forum, You may find something helpful.

  • Hi Amit,

Thanks for you answer, after some testing i found that this "collapse" button works when I’m working local, but when I’m doing it on the sever, it's not working.

I think that the reason is the PWA, cause when I’m saving it, it always expand there, so maybe this is the reason.
