Windows 7 Restore Problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok so I will say the whole story.

While I was using my computer regularly, I notice it wouldn't let me minimize, close(ect.) windows.

    So I forced shut down.

Then windows itself did a scan. Like a c:\scan. The screen was black and it had white letters.

After that I logged onto my profile, but it sent me to a temporary profile.

Then I did system restore on safe mode.

And I was finally on my profile.

    But then more problems occured.

I could not change my theme. But I could change the background color.

I could not search things in the start menu and in other places.

I could not acess some programs using their icons, I had to run as administrator.

    I could not acess gadgets.

Some of my programs are even messed up, as if some of their files are erased and could not run correctly.

What is a solution for this? :\ It's bugging me..

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

You may try to create a new profile for a test. Before doing that, please back up the useful files in the current profile folder.

Also, You can try to restore to an earlier point which does not have the issue.

    Hope this helps.
